• Email address (account creation, briefs, alerts, and transactional messages);
• Plan tier (Reader, Pro, Desk);
• Usage analytics (page views, brief opens — aggregated or anonymized where feasible);
• Watchlist and alert preferences;
• Authentication tokens and session identifiers for secure access.

• Deliver editorial briefs, alerts, and product features you request;
• Operate, secure, and improve the Service;
• Process subscription payments when billing is enabled;
• Communicate service updates and material policy changes.

We share data with vendors strictly as needed to run the Service:

• Anthropic — AI-assisted analysis; prompts are designed to avoid unnecessary personal data;
• Amazon Web Services — hosting and email delivery (SES);
• MongoDB Atlas — database storage;
• AWS Cognito — authentication;
• Stripe — payment processing (not yet integrated; when enabled, card data is handled by Stripe under their terms).

We use essential cookies and similar technologies for authentication (e.g. session cookies). We may use minimal first-party analytics to understand product usage. We do not sell your personal information to third-party advertisers and do not use third-party advertising trackers on the Service.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request access, correction, deletion, export, or restriction of processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact contact@variantmarkets.com. Deleting your account removes associated email, watchlists, and alerts within thirty (30) days, subject to legal retention requirements.

• Active accounts: data retained while the account remains active;
• Closed accounts: personal identifiers deleted within thirty (30) days; aggregated or anonymized metrics may be retained;
• Email delivery logs: retained for up to ninety (90) days for diagnostics.

We use industry-standard protections including TLS in transit and encryption at rest where supported by our providers (e.g. MongoDB Atlas, AWS). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we implement reasonable safeguards appropriate to the risk.

Variant Markets is not directed at individuals under eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Variant Markets is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least fourteen (14) days in advance, where required by law.
